11AM Composting Workshop at Kula Farm (fully booked)

This workshop will explain how you can use free or low cost resources to supply your garden’s soil with more nutrition, beneficial microbiology, and improve its water holding capacity. You’ll learn how to build and maintain a compost pile the right way to reap the many benefits of composting!
The class will be taught in our hydroponic greenhouse. After the class we will go outside (weather permitting) to visit our compost pile. So please dress warm -and for those who like to participate- we will do some work tilling and sieving compost. Please wear old clothes/bring gloves if you would like to help out.

About the presenter:
Lori is new to this area but not to organic farming. She has managed and worked on small scale organic vegetable farms in Pennsylvania, New Mexico, and Louisiana since 2004. She received her Bachelors of Science in Horticulture from New Mexico State University with a concentration in sustainable agriculture.
Lori plans on hosting several seasonal garden related workshops at the Farm that will be in line with the time of year (we are already looking forward to spring!).
KEEPING IT SAFE
All participants are asked to keep distance, wash/sanitize hands on arrival and masks will be required indoors. Everyone will have to complete a health check form incl. a temperature check and a release form. These forms will be made available for review prior to arrival.
